Specialist Reacts to Love Island UK’s Skin Care Routines

The end of a love affair can be both heartwarming and heartbreaking. And as the show makes its way into its final, explosive chapter, it’s safe to say there’s no shortage of drama. Not only have we witnessed some devastating recouplings but also seen a few unlikely romances blossom. After all, what better way is there for two people to find their soul mate than on a dating show? It’s not surprising then that this season has proven so popular with viewers. With such high stakes and several twists along the way, even casual viewers are hooked.Of course, not everyone was happy about their new BFFs from day one. Even though that doesn’t seem like much of a surprise seeing as how most contestants tend to dislike everyone else in the villa by day six or so… We do feel for those who were left feeling slightly betrayed following their one-on-one date when each couple had the chance to propose an intimate ritual together. As we soon discovered, the majority of islanders had serious reservations about the practice and some specialists even criticised it as potentially unhealthy! So what are these specialised helpers saying about all this skin care?

## Beauty 101’s Rhiannon Brooker on her one-on-one date with Olivia

The blonde beauty proved to be a handful, to say the least. After dumping Rhiannon at the airport, Olivia then got into a physical altercation with both her and Alex. While some viewers were shocked by this, Rhiannon seemed unfazed by it all and was focused solely on her date with Olivia. On the surface, it appeared to be a successful moment for the duo as they both made it through the first round of the contest. Although, in Rhiannon’s own words, this didn’t mean a thing once they were alone. “We got on really well,” Rhiannon admitted. “We clicked and found it easy to talk to each other. At the end, she gave me a cuddle and said she was going to miss me.” Things didn’t end on such a sweet high note though and when the subject of proposing a ritual came up, Rhiannon admitted she had some serious concerns. “I’ve seen some of the weird things they do,” Rhiannon said. “It makes me wonder if they are doing it for the wrong reasons or if it’s dangerous.”

## Sarah Hunt on her one-on-one date with Camilla and Jamie

When Sarah first arrived in the villa, she had one goal in mind: to find her SO. And while there were many ups and downs along the way, she eventually came face-to-face with her ultimate match. But could this be the start of a long-term relationship with the pair still unsure of their feelings? After all, they did have an awkward moment when they first met. “It was funny the first day, because we ran into each other in the corridor,” Sarah admitted. “She was coming from the ladies and I was coming from the guys’ room.” There were other signs that their relationship could be going well. When Sarah first returned to the villa, she took the time to speak to Camilla about their date. “She said how much she enjoyed it, how she felt like we clicked and that she wanted to see me again,” Sarah said. “She said she wanted to take it slow and get to know each other. That’s the kind of girl she is.”

## Amy Harte on her one-on-one date with Anton and also the recoupling ceremony

After Amy and Jack’s date went south, the two were forced to have a second go together. It was clear from the start that these two had a real connection, but there was one small problem: they didn’t actually like each other. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to work through their issues until later in the evening after the rest of the islanders had gone to bed. “It was quite awkward in the beginning,” Amy admitted. “I’m not sure if he was being rude or what. He was all over me like a rash though, I was just happy to get out of there.” Things did improve once the couple were alone, but the conversation still wasn’t flowing as smoothly as it could have been. “I found it hard to talk to him,” Amy admitted. “We had a lot of topics that we would never discuss with a guy. It was a bit of a waste of a date because we just talked about mundane things.”

## Rosie Williams on her one-on-one date with Dominika and also the recoupling ceremony

This couple seemed to get off to a great start as they bonded over a shared love of the same skin care brand. “We hit it off straight away,” Rosie said. “We are both really into beauty and we had a lot of similar interests. We were chatting away and he seemed like a really nice guy.” Things did appear to be going well between the two, but it was clear that Rosie was still wary of what would happen next. “We were saying that we were happy just being together,” she said. “I was really happy to be with him and feel like I had found somebody. I just wanted to enjoy it and not worry about anything else.”

## Alex Miller on his one-on-one date with Megan and also the recoupling ceremony

After Alex was forced to introduce himself properly to Megan on their first date, things appeared to be going well between the two. However, things quickly turned sour once they were alone. “We had a really good time together,” Alex admitted. “But we had our differences, which led to us not seeing eye-to-eye. When we were out, she would ask me questions about my past relationships and I would say things that I would never say in a relationship.” Things appeared to get even more complicated when the date ended and the two were forced to join the rest of the group for a group ritual. “It was a bit awkward,” Alex admitted. “We were both a bit quiet and I could see that she was uncomfortable. It was awkward.”

## Kady McDermott on her two one-on-one dates with Anisha and also the recoupling ceremony

After Kady admitted she had a crush on Alex, viewers were ecstatic to see her embark on two dates with the blonde beauty. However, it was clear from the start that they had very different views on the world. “I would go off and have one-to-one dates with Anisha,” Kady admitted. “We would talk about our jobs, our family, our friends… It was always a little bit different.” Perhaps unsurprisingly, Kady was less keen on Alex’s rituals, which she felt were a little too risky. “She would say things like ‘we’re doing this for the health of our skin’ and ‘we’re doing this for our beauty’,” Kady explained. “She would say that we should be doing it for our health and beauty.” Things went from bad to worse when the two were forced to join the rest of the group for the recoupling ceremony. “I could tell that she was uncomfortable,” Kady admitted. “I could tell that she wasn’t happy to be there.”

## Alex Miller on his one-on-one date with Megan and also the recoupling ceremony

It was great to see Alex and Megan get back together for a second date, so we were relieved to see that things were going smoothly between the two once they were back in the villa. They were also quick to point out how important the ritual was. “It was a really important thing for us,” Alex said. “We want to
